The call stands as issued — no revisions.
What would overturn it
A confirmed drone strike on a police or military position in the two departments before September 18; a sustained lull through that date with no further incident would be the counter-signal.
The verdict
Hit Resolved 21 Sep 26.
The very next day, September 5, ELN drones struck a police substation in Guamalito, El Carmen (Norte de Santander), wounding three officers, and ELN drone attacks against security forces in the Catatumbo region continued through the window, including another strike on the El Carmen police post on September 20.
Once the ELN demonstrated a working drone-swarm capability against a battalion, it proved reusable against softer police targets almost immediately.
As logged at issue
Colombia: We expect the ELN to carry out at least one more drone attack on security forces in Cesar or Norte de Santander department within 14 days of the Ocaña battalion strike, given the pattern of repeated drone attacks in the corridor since July -- a sustained lull through September 18 with no further incident is the signal we're wrong.
