Syria reopens the Nassib crossing with Jordan, and the two governments agree a joint security committee on the strikes
So what? Statim flagged the closure yesterday; it lasted about a day and ended with a new channel rather than a rupture. That committee is where the captagon and weapons smuggling that Jordan has cited for its strikes since 2023 can now be handled with Damascus. It is an opening for partner engagement on the southern border. A further unannounced Jordanian strike would end it.

Jordan strikes militant hideouts in southern Syria after the Karak church attack, and Syria closes the Nassib crossing
So what? What has changed since the first reports is the border: freight that used Nassib needs another route, and Syrians lose Jordan as their main land exit. Reopening within weeks would show the two governments are containing the dispute, and a long closure would push southern Syria's trade toward unofficial routes.
