So what?  Two rival Venezuelan factions cooperating toward a concrete, fundable goal rather than only symbolic dialogue is a modest but real signal the post-Maduro transition can produce working agreements, not just statements. Watch whether the Bank of England actually releases any of the frozen gold as the clearer test of whether this becomes real resources rather than another non-binding pledge.

So what?  Excluding Machado suggests the government is negotiating only with a faction it can manage, risking an agreement contested on the ground much as Venezuela's 2024 election was. How these talks land over the next several days will determine how much deportation-flight cooperation Washington can trade for recognition of whatever government emerges.
