So what?  Formalizing a Gulf-Turkey-Pakistan defense bloc while the region is actively under fire signals Riyadh is hedging its security guarantees beyond its traditional reliance on Washington, worth watching for how it reshapes basing, overflight, and liaison arrangements with existing Gulf partners. Whether the pact produces real military integration — joint exercises, shared early-warning, interoperable logistics — or stays a paper declaration is the signal that will determine if it changes regional security calculations at all.

So what?  Round-the-clock border operations would be the more consequential change of the two announcements, since sanctions and banking curbs — not operating hours — have been the real ceiling on Pakistan-Iran trade; whether this translates into actual throughput gains depends on whether Islamabad can keep the crossings open without triggering fresh U.S. sanctions-evasion scrutiny of the corridor. A serious volume increase would also widen the informal-trade and fuel-smuggling economy that already runs along this border.
