So what?  This lands as Iran absorbs strikes on its western and southern flanks and has an incentive to lock down cooperation on its eastern border instead; a functioning Pakistan channel matters for interdicting Afghanistan-sourced narcotics and militant financing that regularly spill toward the Gulf. Watch for whether this becomes a joint border-patrol mechanism, which would be the first concrete deliverable rather than another statement of intent.
